youpey
I used to be big into the 1/32 slot cars. I have 4 different sets and i would spend hours racing. I even have a digital set were the cars drive themselves and change lanes on there own. Really fun for people like me who only drive alone. There used to be a slot car place at a mall in pa but they closed down. They had big tracks you could race at. I remember the time i was there and a guy had a nice porsche kit that he put custom tires on and better motor, etc. The guy asked me if i wanted to race and i said ok. The owner of the store said his car was really customized and dont be upset if he wins. So i have this ford fiesta rally car that is really good. has weird ribbed tires and is generally good. It has a slower top speed but handles like no other. Anyway we raced and he was faster on the straight but i killed him on every turn. At the end i won because of the turns. Tbe owner was really surprised how fast it was on the turns. Anyway now that im working from home i had to take down the track to setup a work space, but im considering changing the area and mounting the work monitor on the wall so i can setup the track again Edited May 13, 2021 by youpey
dwdirks
Hi Miles, Good to hear that you're getting back into 1/32 slot car racing. I have a home 1/32 track in my basement and enjoy racing on my own and with my grandsons (they like to go as fast as possible and delight in spectacular crashes). I posted a couple of my slot car builds on this forum. If you're interested in more info on the 1/32 slot car scene there are some good online forums that have lots of info: https://www.hrwforum.com/, https://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?act=home, https://slotracer.online/community/index.php Have fun with your slot cars!
