Brutalform
Finished this car up a few weeks ago. This is a build I started working on to take a break from all the other projects I have going on. I just stayed with it until it was completed. It sits a tad high in the back, but that’s because I had different intentions with the build, besides the Zintsmater car, and the suspension was done. But I can live with the car sitting this way. The BMF that is available now is no where near as nice as the “new improved chrome” that I can no longer find.

One good thing, there are a few pics out there of the real car, unlike many of the old S/S cars. TransAmMike
And again, great job replicating that S/S'er.
papajohn97
Beautiful job Tom! Love the subject and your fabulous execution. The look of whitewalls on early sixties SS’er’s, so nostalgic for me (as well as for other fellow old geezers). I wouldn’t have even noticed the height of the rear if you hadn’t pointed it out. Under hood detail is also really nice. I experienced your BMF troubles this morning in using a brand new package - it doesn’t stick worth a darn! I had to pull out what little foil I’ve been using for a few years to finish the small job I was doing (Revell’s new XKE roadster). I guess we need to add adhesive to use this newer stuff? I haven’t had any issues with the product not sticking. My problem is it looks too rough, and grainy after it’s applied. After rubbing, and burnishing, it still looks rough. (See last pic). The old “new improved” BMF had a nice, shiny, smooth look after applied. And yes, I always fine sand my posts and other areas before painting and foiling. Sometimes I sand those areas even after painting, if need be, since any blemishes on those areas, like window posts, etc, being foiled will show through. Nitrobarry
Love the tail panel and headlight bucket treatment (contrasting finishes). That`s the way they are supposed to look. Well done!
