Revell 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302.....1/25 scale.

Just finished Revell's 1969 Boss 302 Mustang. I used a custom mixture of Decoart Jack O' Lantern Orange and Folkart Lipstick Red for the color ( I was going for Calypso Coral, I think I got pretty close) and cleared it with Tamiya TS-13 Clear Gloss. The same colors, but with a slightly different mixture, were used for the chassis. The interior is just Apple Barrel Black with Pledge brushed on the seats, dash, and door panels for the sheen, while the woodgrain is all kit decals. The hood was painted with Krylon Short Shots Flat Black with a quick polish of Novus #2. I used BMF for the window trim, brushed on Molotow for the grille trim, and added heater hoses, ignition wires, door locks , and valve stems for extra detail. This is a great kit, although I wish the interior were a little more detailed, and everything fit together very well. I may have to buy and build another, lol. Thanks for looking!!

Beautiful.   I have one of these in the pile,  will get started when I decide what color to make it.

Thanks Doug! This one was almost done in a non-factory Metallic Gray, but I was able to, at least in my opinion, mimic Calypso Coral close enough to go with it. I may buy another real soon to do either in that Metallic Gray, or another non-factory color such as a Dark Bronze.

Looks great. I was going to do mine in yellow but that sure looks great. Might have to rethink my plans. 🤨

BTW, for those who don't know, the '69 Boss 302 was only available from Ford in 4 colors,,

Bright Yellow

Calypso Coral

Wimbledon White

and Acapulco blue.

I'm sure most of you guys already know this but I thought I'd add it for those who don't know. 😉

Very nice clean build with wonderful attention to detail.

I've experimented a bit with using craft acrylics but with only mediocre results.  Can you share details of how you thin and the apply the paint?

I assume the clear coat is what gives it the nice gloss finish?

Thanks,

Andrew
