BlackSheep214
Or am I imagining it? Or do the Sci fi kit designers lost their creative juices? I mean, come on... who would buy and build a space ship that looks exactly like a dual action airbrush?? LOL!! I came across this in Lucky Models website. https://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=PSD-AMK-001
Rob Hall
Odd. Notice it says Iwata at the bottom right. Isn’t that an airbrush brand?
Bills72sj
Did you see the specs? 800G of acceleration!?!? That will spill your coffee! lol. Then is only goes a measly 800kph. That is going to be a very long trip.

Mark
Give them a break...it's gotta be tough coming up with space ship designs, planet names, weapons, and species names not already taken by Star Trek and Star Wars...

Bucky
Sorry... I missed the link. I just now clicked on it. This model is certainly something very different.

This model is certainly something very different. I still think that 1:1 scale snap-model-kit of the Nissen CUP NOODLE is weirder than a fantasy spaceship "Iwata". Also, spaceship model miniatures in many SciFi films have often been designed using all sorts of mundane contemporary objects. Cool Hand
I use an Iwata HPCP, so I will be trying to buy one, I think its cool as and very different which I find interesting.
Jim B
That's pretty cool. I agree, 800kph (497mph) isn't going to get you very far very fast in space. At that speed, it would take you 481 day to get to the moon.
Venom
It makes sense to me. Though I’m not into spaceships, It seems fitting that an airbrush company would offer a model that looks like an airbrush in disguise so that you can use your own Iwata to paint all the little details on and then have an interesting piece to talk about, or just to collect.... I think it’s pretty clever.
NOBLNG
Neat marketing gimmick I think.

Goose1957
Darn it, now I want an airbrush that looks like that and lights up like it too. They planned this, lol. Jeff
metalhead
It's something different. I'll give them that.

Problem is, it can't go that far. It's always tethered to the space station, for oxygen. 😁
DPNM
Awesome! I gotta get one at some point. Interesting Iwata would license something like this. Way cool.
DPNM
I just bought mine. I have severe Airbrush Acquisition Disorder. I had to get at least one to add to my AB collection. Probably buy another one too, just to have.
Cool Hand
Got a delivery today from Lucky Models. Even with EMS from Hong Kong still worked out cheaper than buying the kits in Australia. Only difference between the two kits, is box art and the Iwata version has 2 parts with the Iwata name on them. DPNM
Great score on both kits Luke! I haven't found the Special Edition in the US yet. My standard edition kit arrived Saturday.
Jim B
I don't read Japanese. What is the difference between the Special Edition & the Standard Edition?

To my knowledge these are the pieces that replace the unmarked pieces in the standard kit: The box says this kit is based on the Iwata HP-C Plus. It is not. The HP-C Plus has the angled air channel as seen on mine: It is actually based on the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS (Plus). I believe a Plus model would have the same handle on as my HP-C+ with the needle stop. I looked on the Iwata website but did not find an Eclipse HP-CS+. Iwata image of Eclipse HP-CS: This painting by Gerald Mendez is what inspired the model. Mr Mendez's painting was of a Kustom Micron CMC.
