Plowboy
Just finished this one up. It's the old AMT kit from around the same year. I've had this idea rolling around for years. But, never got around to it. Needing a break from a detailed build, it was the perfect time to make my idea come to life. It's just a simple curbside build. I cut away the wheel wells to make room for the Aoshima Kranze wheels that were stripped, wheel lips narrowed and painted. Paint is Tamiya Metallic Red with a coat of Tamiya Flat Clear. Interior is Tamiya Satin Black. Thanx for checking it out!
bbowser
Very cool! Flat red looks much better than I would have thought.

Dragonhawk1066
Very nice and well done! Hard to make a 4-door Taurus look cool, but you aced it!!
Dennis Lacy
That’s one way to make a first-gen SHO look tuff! Looks killer , Roger!
bisc63
Nice job; Ford engineered this thing nicely, but most looked just too generic to me. They could have been a bit more bold with just wheels, color, and interior choices and created something truly eye-catching, as your build shows! Clean build as always. Now, that '62 is waiting... Thanx Rusty! Yeah, they were just a rolling appliance. My wife had a '98 that she loved. It had the 3.0 DOHC (very similar engine) and for a family car, it would move! I could put some fear in a Mustang GT or Camaro for the first 150-200 feet! Her car was the reason I went with the flat red. I got an idea of what to do with the engine from this kit. So, the '62 may not get my full attention for a bit.

Cool Hand
Nice one Roger, really like the style of this build. Was Tamiya Smoke applied over the front and rear lense's or did you use another technique ??
DoctorLarry
Should have come from the factory this way!

TransAmMike
Hey there Roger. Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Darn cool looking SHO. Great job👍 As for doing it curbside, I've said before, if you're gonna build a model that is just gonna be displayed in a closed case, awhats the point in spending a bunch of time detailing an engine and engine compartment unless you really get a great satisfaction in doing so. Just my 2 cents😀 Edited October 11, 2021 by TransAmMike

Just my 2 cents😀 Thanx Mike! I wanted to do it full detail. But, it would've taken so much work and re-engineering to do it. Especially in the front. This was more of a test run. If I ever attempt another build like this, I'll make it a wide body.

Claude Thibodeau
Hi Roger! Well, this car pushes all the right buttons for me. Bravo! If only some daring builder had the guts to try that in 1/1 back then... CT
carbuilder1950
@Plowboy I already commented on this once, but this is such a nice build, I had to come back to comment on it one more time. This is such an unusual subject, but came out so over the top - BEAUTIFUL!!
Koellefornia Kid
Oh 😳 ! Who would've thought that a Taurus can look that cool? Great wheel and colour choices and I just love that stance!
