SfanGoch
Wassamatta U? You might consider it picking nits; however, everyone has a rivet-counting obsession with the minutiae at some level of the hobby. You're never too old to learn correct terminology. SfanGoch
Note to Dave: You're getting caught up in analysis paralysis. You'll never accomplish anything by overthinking. The K.I.S.S. principle rules. An Italian proverb to consider:  "Le meglio è l'inimico del bene" The best is the enemy of good.

SfanGoch
Nah, just kidding about Cold Slugs. Bush Tetras was a real band, though.

The difference is that sprue or runner most will know what is being talked about. So if I said throttle body instead of carburetor most would know what I'm talking about, engine part thing is too vague.

bobthehobbyguy
One suggestion is to get some cheap craft paint for spraying. You can get your technique dialed in for using an airbrush without wasting money. You can also get a feel for thinning paints. Also by using waterbased craft paints you it will allow for quick cleanup. Ultimately you will need to do some final b testing with the actual paint you will be using.
