Farmer Wilding
It's Christmas day already here in Australia, and what did I get? I'll just list the main modelling-related things.... An assemble-it-yourself office chair for the library/modelling room - I guess that sorta counts as a kit. I put it together in 15 minutes after we got back from church; can't think when was the last time I built a model that fast! And a lovely resource book entitled "Hot Rodding International, The Best in Hot Rodding from Around the World". 224 pages, all colour, put out by Graffiti Publications here in Australia (www.graffitipub.com.au). It has coverage of events from around the world - well, Australia, New Zealand, America and the UK, and a feature on Janne Kutja's artwork counts for Scandinavia. AND, six pages of models! Most exciting part is that this great ideas book is billed as "Number 1" - I wonder how often they'll come out? Wall-to-wall photos with sensible captions, no ads, no arty-farty space-wasting page layouts; I'll be into this book this afternoon! Jane said it'd give me plenty of ideas. Lessee, start with the old-style green flatty-powered deuce-grilled early A roadster on the cover... (turns pages) Hmm, looks like I'll be buying a lot of new kits this year....... I LOVE my wife! Smart-Resins
Nothing that fancy. Jeeze I wish i could build a 1:1 model chair and a 1:1 figurine to go into it. LOL. Actually the phone company sent us some gift cards and the wife told me to use one and get whatever I wanted for Christmas, so i bought a Fire Iron today sealed in the box. One of my holy grails so to speak, and some t140 and t120 modelhaus wheels. Another semi holy grail kinda thing as Ive always wanted some ever since I saw them. Thanks to some poeple on here giving me the info i needed for the part numbers. Hopefully real soon I can get my blown flatty to go with them! LOl. Daniel Peterson
What would you need that for? Where's your woman at? J/K Clay, MERRY CHRISTMAS Stud finders...whatever happened to rapping your knuckles on the sheet rock until the tone changed? I had an electronic stud finder years ago. My son, then 5 or so, saw it and asked what it was. I told him "It's a stud finder...you press this button and and slide it across the wall to find a stud." I handed it to him...he placed it on his chest and pressed the button, and a red light came on. His eyes lit up and he immediately imformed me he was a stud. Now that I'm single again, maybe I should carry a stud finder with me and use it when I'm introducing myself to available middle-aged ladies...course if they're my age, they'll ask why I didn't just punch myself in the chest until the tone changed. 62SS
I didn't get any model stuff cause Lord knows I have enough, But my kids pitched in and got me a Ryobi 18v cordless tool combo. I do kitchen and bath remodeling so this is the best gift a guy like me could ask for. But the very best gift was that for the first time in a while, I had my whole family together for Christmas. My daughter lives in Utah, and my son Will and his family live about an hour and a half away. My youngest is still at home. My wife and I really enjoyed our day with the grand kids and our youngest running around, And spending time with Will and our daughter in law and our daughter. It was one of the best Christmas holidays ever.
