Rbray47
I normally use Testors gloss clear to adhere headlight lenses, etc. I can't find any locally anymore. Will Tamiya gloss clear work the same? Or should I just order a dedicated clear parts glue?
Bainford
Yes, pretty much any clear paint will serve that purpose. I sometimes use Future when a very thin adhesive is needed. I have used Tamiya acrylic and Testors Gloscote also.
youpey
i use modpodge for clear parts and it works great. one thing to note, if the piece is ill fitting, it wont work. the modpodge dries very clear and if you mess up you can wipe it with water and start again. it says it takes 24 hours to fully cure, but honestly, 1 hour is enough for me. for tough fitting pieces, where something is warped or just very ill fitting, i use gorilla clear. it holds much better, but there is less room for error with that. Plowboy
I use Testors Windshield Glue. A bottle will last a very long time. I'm still on my first bottle of it.
Snake45
I use Elmer's glue or, even better, Tacky Glue, available at Walmart.
Rbray47
Thanks for the fast answers! I *think* I saw Tamiya clear at the hobby shop. I'd rather just pick some up on my next trip.
espo
I have used Tamiya gloss clear for as long as I can remember, zero problems.
JohnU
Elmers make a clear school glue. Just like the white only clear! Use it for lenses and windshield.
Dave G.
Testors makes a clear parts glue, comes in a black plastic bottle like their regular cement does ( not the orange tube stuff). That's what I use. It can be real stringy and messy if you put on too much, just a heads up. Edited December 3, 2021 by Dave G.
Classicgas
For windows I use 5 minute epoxy. For clear lenses I use either some type of clear or elmers glue. Epoxy yellows.
Smoke Wagon
I’ve been using Elmer’s clear with no issues so far. Dries crystal clear.
Jon Haigwood
I use Formula 560 Canopy glue. I also use it to mockup parts before final assembly because it can be removed without harming finish It is similar to Elmer's and School glue Edited December 4, 2021 by Jon Haigwood
SCRWDRVR
I use Arleene's Tacky Glue but it is pretty much the same thing as Elmer's
