BRBO Steveracer's Autocar Dump Build

Recommended Posts

Did a little weathering to the chassis in areas that may be hard to get to once glued together.....

Then started working on the dump body.  The parts are warped and needed quite a bit of oomph or whatever to get them to line up....but they will get there!

Might look same but a lot of fitting and patience to get to this stage where the engine is installed and main chassis parts glued in place.  Wheels are straight but will get more weathering later as I progress.  The tanks for fuel and air (which you can’t really see) are slightly weathered and will get some diesel fuel on them as well.  But the basic chassis done….now back to the cab and dump body.

Well, that was a long vacation.  Last year wife had an idea to take the RV to Florida for the winter.  This year the same.  Since I generally model in the winter season, guess what....

Got back early this year and about to finish this dirt bag up.  Here may be a few new photos....gotta finish it for the model show on Sunday at Macomb Community College....

Not quite done, still needs a little more weathering around the stack, the intake pipe and firewall, some more mud or dust, and added a Michigan plate to the rear...that needs some real dirt and muck.  I am going to fine detail it tonight and after that, will put it in the completed bucket....

Looks great, I'm doing one, as a heavy haul tractor... I have found Meng nuts and bolt really help out on the steering gear and rear ends... love your oil stains, and greasy U-joints.... the transmission color is spot on.... just the right amount of 'oxidation' too, top drawer job !
