A pair of deuces

One of these coupes is the Revell kit. The other is a 1:25 Monogram "Rockin' Rods" "Beach Boys Little Deuce Coupe" rendition, an older kit. The Monogram kit is a bit toy-like in that the kit is molded in red. The Revell street rod is a very good kit. This is how I see them. Thanks for looking!s-l1600.jpg.2b06a4e847885b437e8e7234992d79d7.jpg1037815392_s-l1600(1).jpg.79a1b981dbcc6325ba027ad9911e4036.jpgIMG_1633.jpg.a60b6f50c639a5c56d42c4fa4dd6ce1d.jpgIMG_1627.jpg.50db4123919ff60452c9e7344cf56133.jpgIMG_1625.jpg.a0c0f9c9ea4cea0fa3e6dc27fcdc60d4.jpgIMG_1629.thumb.jpg.eddcdad0c5303d000fe7319413e1bb6a.jpgIMG_1630.thumb.jpg.ff4ad576417a501acc71322c200f929b.jpgIMG_1631.thumb.jpg.fce1751546d24dafddf800c2e8cc0203.jpgIMG_1632.jpg.5468cdd4485481dae0ace64bcf27401f.jpgIMG_1624.jpg.6b944bb84cd049f0ba70b291eb50bfbb.jpg

Those are very nice! I like the maroon one best. But I'm confused. Which body did you use for the maroon one? I'd be quite surprised if the Monogram body looks that good chopped...and that the Revell windshield looks that wonkyย after a large chop. No matter, great work on them both!

Thanks Dave & Glenn, theย  maroon coupe is the revell. It's an older build that I did before I found out that model putty shrinks. After that I became a fanatic for Bondo. The roofs are quite different.ย  Not sure how far back the "Little Deuce Coupe" kit goes, but the Revell kit is pretty much the same e kit as the 5W kit. Different body, but it came with most of the other stuff. The engine in my versionย isย from the 5W. The "Rockin' Rods" series also immortalized the ZZ Top "Eliminator" '33ย  coupe, also in red styrene.ย  Also toy-like and not well detailed.ย  But I digress.๐Ÿฅดย Nothing looks right on the Monogramย  body;ย ย it all looks distorted. But it's a 3 window coupe and that's all I care aboutย ๐Ÿ˜Žย Looks more like a Plymouth ๐Ÿ˜†ย  ย Below is a shot of the roof that was filled with Tamiya putty. Thanks for your interest. Thank you Phil & Ray, a deuce was meant to be chopped and channelled; why else would there be so darn many of them?

Phil, I really don't recall what chassis went where but it is probably the one that came with AL Jardine's ride (yup, read the boxย ๐Ÿ™„).ย  As stated above, that kit was very disappointng. Or maybe it came out of the '29 roadster kit. I dunno. I mix stuff up so much anything's possible ๐Ÿคช.

The big thing with the "Beach Boy" body is the A pillars. They bear no resemblance to those of a 1932 ford. None. That kit was a dog, full stop.
