IH Paystar 5000 4x4

Recommended Posts

This project began with a picture of a truck for sale that I found on line. It had been a spreader truck that the bed had been removed. This is what this one is supposed to represent. I liked the way it looked with no bed. This build started with a Paystar logger truck. The tires, front axle and transfer case are from Kit Form Services. The engine is a Detroit 6-71 from Gary Wallace. Thanks this one stalled for 7 months. I’m glad to be calling it done.

Everything about this is just great. I love the way it looks. Well worth the effort you put into it. The engine , weathering and the weighted tires only add to an already realistic model.

Thanks so much! I am always inspired by your builds!

Awesome build Brian yours looks a lot better than the one in your reference pictures. I like the colors you went with.

Thanks Dan! I was torn between red, yellow and orange, but yellow is my favorite.

Excellent work... What a beast.... Nice subtle weathering and such... The detail is quite good...

Thanks JT! I almost painted this one orange, but decided to go with yellow.😀

Another great build. Too bad it was stalled, but it looks nice in the end. Unique truck.

Thanks for all the encouragement Vince!

I like what you did with this one Brian. Looks like an ex oil field worker from the sands of Saudi Arabia!  Great construction color combo theme.

Thanks! I’m glad that I went with the black hood. I almost painted it yellow too.
