Any other photographers?

Eons ago. Still have my 35mm and 2 1/4 cameras, but most of my darkroom stuff got away over the years.

I did cars, races, aircraft, trains, arty stuff, portraits, and a little advertising garbage...just part time.

I still shoot from time to time with early digital equipment, but I'd kinda like to get back into film when I have more time.

I got interested in photography when I decided I needed to learn how to photograph fish in an aquarium. Got to where I was giving photography talks at fish club meetings and conventions. That of course led to photographing other things, likes cars and aircraft. I used to take a camera with my everywhere I went, that way I could just stop and grab a few shots if anything caught my eye. I need to start doing that again. How can we be 3 posts into a photography thread and not have any photos posted? Problem solved!

I used to be into film, but I got lazy. One of my 35mm cameras was traded away on this very forum for models. My current phone is a really nice camera overall and I enjoy taking pics with it when I see something attractive. Mostly food I have made and the wonders of man(kind) and nature that I observe every day.

Though I'd been shooting 35mm since 1980 (no color darkroom experience), my only occasional commercial photography has been digital in support of products for billboard ads. Here are a couple of the very few personal pics I have access to from this computer.

You have a good eye. I like your stuff.  :D

Thanks Bill. I have been working from home due to pandemic since 3/22/20. My daily routine used to be walking to the bridge and back every morning. I have a lot of pics of her. The one I posted was during one of our "times of fire" and it made the sky look amazing. I need to get out more and take more pics. The best pic I DIDN'T take was of a deer and a coyote on opposite sides of the road waiting for a car to pass so they could cross the road.

I started my photography love in 1980 with a X-Mas gift Pentax K1000. Been working in the photo industry since 1985. Today I work for the last brick/mortar camera store/lab in St. Louis, Schiller's Camera (established 1892).

I still shoot film, I scan my color but print BW in the darkroom. When I find some time I'll post some of my work.

Finally had time to come visit this thread again. Very nice work everyone posted! I started out with a 110 film camera when I was a kid and worked my way up to an Olympus Om-1n 35mm SLR that I still have. I shoot Nikon crop sensor now, either a D3300 or D7500. The 7500 is a real workhorse in my opinion. I don't keep many photos on the computer as I tend to print the ones I keep- but here's a few:

I majored in photography at Massachusetts College of Art.  I used to shoot black and white film on vacations.  I have a collection of antique cameras, many of which I could not get film for.  I still have all my darkroom stuff that I haven't touched since the early 2000's.  I haven't used my 35mm camera since 2008 or so.

These shots of a neighbor's garage are from 1993.

The problem with mentioning to people that you collect cameras is that people will dump old obsolete cameras and darkroom gear on you.  🙂

Here's a small part of my own collection, as seen in 1991.  Most of came from my grandparents.  Over the years I got into 4x5 and 5x7 view cameras, and even stereo 3D photography.
