I hear you.  I think I paid $10 for most of the 68 Shelby kits I bought over the years and the newer AMT 67/68 fastbacks about $15.  HRM made a resin convertible version which combined the best of both kits but it was not cheap.  The 67 vs. 68 interiors are a little different but for a street machine like yours it’s only something the purists will notice.  😉

I’m thinking of buying another GT500 kit and the 66 coupe kit and making a Shelby coupe

Been playing around with this, kind of a what could have happened to the Futura if Barris turned it into something other than the Batmobile, but using some of the Bat-Styling Cues, plus a kinda ‘62 T-Bird back seat tonneau cover inspired area behind the seats.

Still working out how I want to shape the raised areas though.

Neat idea with the twin tonneaus, I could see a pair of vintage style roll bars added to that.

Thanks, I've thought about doing the same with one of the Futura kits I have too......too bad the size is just far enough off that I'm not sure if I could cast this reuse before permanently attaching it to this model

When I redid my '69 Dodge Coronet, I got a spare blower just in case. This Viper has been on my shelf since around 1997, won a number of trophies and has always been one of my favorites. I decided time to change the rims out, and whatthehell, drop the blower on. I prob won't have any in-progress, but will show it when done.

Here's a mock up of a 1941 Willys roadster project- going to be very Art Deco style with Kelsey Hayes wire wheels and a blown Ardun flathead. Rear cowl is a portion of the same area from a Pyro Cord.

Something I mocked up for HMCN. Life got in the way and it has sat in a box, time to break it out now.

Any guesses what the body is?

Resin (grey parts) courtesy of Texas 3D customs. Not the wheels and tires I'm gonna be going with, but they will have to stand in until the right ones get here.

Neat! I built one a few years ago, plus plenty of sprue for the roll cage!

Here's something that's been in "mockup" for a few years.

It's a parts box buy (glue bomb). I have the passengers side the way I want, now just have to copy it to the drivers side. I think I'm just going to paint the clay when I get it to that point. I haven't mastered the "casting" prosses yet.

This has been a little "Build a Ship in a Bottle" and years of planning from memories of ideas that cross through one's mind on a daily basis.  Seeing pictures from the past of real speed racers and drawing on other's aerodynamic designs, aero being key, and taking a couple of aircraft ques to task... the '29 TNR is continuing to be a work of love!  A love for the hobby and the art of the automobile passing through time. -KK

the AMT 1964 Mercury Marauder. This kit is lacking in detail. I'll do my best with this as it has a badly warped body. Luckily it will be held together with screws. I will be doing my typical land yacht in the weeds, modern wheels with low profile tires, flocking, engine wiring, articulating front wheels, ear bud leads as heater hoses, disc brakes all around and whatever else I can come with. I sprayed it with nail polish and things went terribly wrong when I attempted to lightly sand it too soon. I had to strip it.

Yes. Complete with a rather large void in the front right fender. Stay away unless you are up for a challenge

I have an original screw bottom convertible, it’s missing some small pieces, I had thought of picking one up to get them.

It's like the original with a lot of extra goodies like a fire extinguisher, record player, surf board, scissor jack, convertible boot, and detailed drum brakes...one thing I hate is no numbers on the parts tree. You get a tiny diagram on the bottom of the box.
