'53 Studebaker Starliner

Finished up the pretty '53 Stude. I'm such a fan of the lines of this car! I've read that a member of Raymond Loewy's design team (and no doubt Loewy himself) was a fan of the Lockheed Constellation, and tried to incorporate the beautiful arc of the forward fuselage into the car's nose. (I did an autocross once at the Camarillo Airport, and got to pit beneath a Connie's wing, so I threw that pic in here just for fun!).

Exterior is Tamiya Mica Red rattle can lacquer, TS-39, over light gray Tamiya Fine Surface Primer, and roof is airbrushed Tamiya white acrylic. Interior is Rustoleum Painter's Touch 2X Heirloom White and airbrushed Testors Light Gray enamel.

Kit goes together easily and was a pleasure to build. Hood fits perfectly, which was a nice surprise. Bumpers are a little fiddly to mount, and radiator hose doesn't come close to reaching the radiator...I added about 2mm of styrene rod.

Thanks for looking!

Edit: I may redo the rear bumper. It has a couple of pegs that fit into the chassis (the way I glued it in), but you can get a better fit by shaving the pegs and gluing bumper directly to the body.
