Question? Archer rivets

Archer water slide rivets. 

Do they need a glossy surface, or can they be applied directly to the primer?

I have done some research and it seems to be the best way to deal with the seam on the Freightliner COE.

You can apply them directly on primed surfaces.

Just tried some myself. They worked fine over primer. I did use setting solution.

I have used them over primer also. I used the O scale 5/8 rivets on my Freightliner and wish I had used the 7/8 rivets.

One of the videos I watched said to use the G scale 5(8 rivets.

He said it was almost a perfect match for the kit rivets.

Do you have to cut close to the rivets or will primer hide the edge of the carrier just fine?

Here are the Archer louvers applied to my current project. Should have the same results as using their rivets.

Before paint, note the edges of the decal, especially at the sides.

And then after one coat of primer and 2 coats of paint. The line disappears
