MPC 1969 Dodge Charger

Despite the fit issues and simple parts on this old MPC kit it's one of my favourites. Just correcting the fit issues can produce a decent looking '69 Charger from this old mould, but it's always fun to go a little further! I opened the trunk and scratch built the floor in there, steering and suspension scratch built, and I added a few details under the hood. The hood is from the '68 Revell Charger.. and yes, the trunk stripe is also for a '68 but it's all I had.

Beautiful looking Charger. I like the way you do your showroom builds. Great looking paint job and the colors go well together.

That color really comes alive in the daylight. It appeared darker in the build pics! Really nice work on this one, and you nailed the stance, it has a realistic "sit" that looks showroom perfect. Well done.

Absolutely LOVE it! That colour looks like Q5 Turquoise , perhaps a shade-darker.

Those '69 stripes look right at home, too.

The opening boot is perfection! Even down to the petrol filler tube.

Outstanding! You have disproved the old adage "You can't polish a turd." You are making me want to build one of these things, and there's one in the Snakepit. VERY well done and model on! B)

Great build and a very attractive color combination.

For me there are two items that stick out on this build that I'd like to incorporate into a build eventually. One is whitewalls on a musclecar and second is the opening trunk.

Your Charger has a terrific factory stock look. I really like the colour too. Like everyone has been saying, the open vent window is a really nice touch that I don’t remember seeing  before. We’ll done.

Thanks guys, I didn't expect so many comments so soon, Lol. I need to log on more often so I can reply! The colour of the paint is called Pacific Green Metallic by Hycote. I did the whitewalls by mistake! As I was doing the last wheel I realised they should be redlines, it was one of those "awe, s**t!" moments! Lol. I might redo them later. I also forgot to black out the rear light panel, but I doubt I'll fix that without redoing the foil and removing the lights and bumper.
