Nosferatu
I’m starting this one. I took an older build of a 1939 Ford pickup and tore it down for this. I’m looking to replicate this

misterNNL
I've got some warm cookies and a cold glass of milk ready for this show. I'll be tuned in for sure. What boom system will you be using?
Zippi
The 39 wrecker is looking pretty good. I like the two tone color on the wrecker your going to replicate.

Paul Payne
Please replicate the boom in the 1:1 photo! Way cool and makes that rig!
Ace-Garageguy
Really really really like this project. Thanks for the wheels/tires link too; just what I've been looking for.
Nosferatu
Thanks for the kudos and encouragement! I see one issue when comparing the picture and the mock-up I am seeing that the distance between the front and rear fenders in the pic is longer than the distance in the mock-up. I think I may have to extent the frame I also figured out a way to replicate the boom with the bent angle iron. Dave

I have their stuff on several builds. I love this truck, I love how simple the old tow trucks were.
Nosferatu
I widened the rear fenders.
Nosferatu
I did a bit more work to this. Built the rear bed box and cut the fenders into it. I still need to adjust the stance. Thanks for looking. Dave

Nosferatu
Thanks for your kind comments! I really appreciate them. I did a bit more work on the bed. I added a bed interior. I also put the first coat of gold on the wheels, they aren't glued so they are a bit askew. The fenders are all puttied and I have added half round to them for the pads. I started the boom using flat styrene. There's a lot of bracing to go. Thanks for looking Dave
mchook
Great job! That boom is not an easy one to pull off and it's looking nice. Keep up the great work.
bisc63
High quality scratch-building happening! Looking forward to more.
Nosferatu
Thanks again guys for your comments. The boom is all done except for the sanding and finishing touches. I used 40 pieces of styrene and one chain for this. Thanks again for looking. Dave
Zippi
That boom setup looks really sharp. I'm liking this build.
