Dodge LS1000 Day cab

Recommended Posts

I’m finishing up my bottom dump trailer and need a cab to tow it. The Super Bee Trucking is getting a second Dodge to the fleet. This is the AITM resin Dodge LS1000  day cab and I’m using a AMT Frightliner for the donor chassis and engine. With this being part of the Super Bee Trucking fleet it’s going to be black and yellow. Started with the painting the rims so far.

Looks like another great build in the making! The Dodge cab from AITM looks like a nice piece. I like the Freightliner frame choice, a perfect match for a 60's Dodge.

Thanks Tommy

My buddy Stace just sent me a Detroit diesel today to replace the Cummins. Started working on the cab to get it ready for paint. First I thinned the front around the windshield so I can put the windshield up against the windshield molding. I’ve also put the pins in to support the wind deflectors.

That's a proper truck that. Looks great with the Freightliner chassis. Does the Detroit fit under ok?

Thanks Steve, I only had to rework the front frame cross member and add some engine supports.

I’ve finished the interior and have the front and wing vent glass in place. Received my Detroit from Stace and getting it ready for paint now. Looks like it’s going to fit nicely and I’ve figured out how to run the exhaust stacks and still working out the details on the air intake.

Looking good.  I'm starting a similar build with a COE on a Freightshaker frame.

Thanks Warren good choice for your donor with your Brockway day cab.

Making some progress, I’ve painted the DD and have it installed plus I hooked up the stacks. I have the air cleaner and duct work ready to be installed next. Getting closer to finishing this one up. Thanks for everyone’s comments and support on my build.

Love these old trucks especially the cabovers!

Great built you have going, wish I could afford some of their s stuff.

Would love to build an Emeryville!

You need to stuff the tires to keep then on the wheels. I know guys use some kind of foam pieces but I have always used rolled up napkins or paper towels.

Thanks Johnny the tires are solid resin I picked them up from Scenes Unlimited but the ID on the tires are a little bit bigger than the OD on the rims. I added some extra plastic on the rims but the tires still like to slide.

You are going to need to create trucking divisions in your Super Bee fleet. 😉

Gary so far I have “Super Bee Trucking”, Super Bee Transit Mixing” and “Super Bee Services”
