SpreadAxle Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) I thought you might like these. It's the 1970s kenworth paintbook, Pete 359 paintbook, 1980 GMC General and Astro, GMC Astro paintschemes from the 1970s, 1980 Chevy Titan, and 1978 F700 Mack. These aren't all that out of date, since I have seen modern day W900s, 378s, and 379s painted like these trucks here. I hope you enjoy them and can use them. Here is the Kenworth K100/K123: These are for the W900/W925: Peterbilt 359: Hope you enjoyed them. As I find more of these, I will post. Then again, if you have design patterns to share, feel free to add to the list. I would love to see how many of these we can get up here. Edited January 14, 2009 by FlatbedKW
SpreadAxle Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 From the 1970s, GMC Astro/Chevy Titan: ...and from the 1977 Astro brochure: 1980 Chevy Titan: 1980 GMC Astro: 1980 GMC General: In addition to these, here is a page that appears in both the 1978 and 1980 Mack F700 Interstater brochures:

SpreadAxle Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 This is from the 1982 Mack Cruiseliner brochure, although these patterns were used on earlier Cruiseliners. The square grille in the pix can be obtained from AITM under the name Mack Cruiseliner V8 Grille. For those of you who like "Design L" on this page, these can be obtained from JBOT. To see the stripes, click on the link: http://www.jbot.ca/cars/trucks/striping6.shtml
Old Albion Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Ray, Many thanks for posting these colour schemes. Where did you get them from? I will copy them to my computer. Thanks again. Best Wishes Dave
SpreadAxle Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 You're welcome Dave. I knew these would be of use to someone. I got them from all over the place. As I find more, I will link or post the pix.
SpreadAxle Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) While cruising Tim Ahlborn's website, I noticed he took the time to add further to the reference material he already offers those who visit. If you are interested in paint schemes for the Peterbilt 352 cabover, click on the link below, then scroll to the very bottom of the page. There are 5 pages from the Peterbilt paintbook. All for the 352. Tim, thank you for all the reference photos you have provided on your website. They are a real help to those who visit. http://timstrucks.web.aplus.net/PBCOEolder.htm Edited January 25, 2009 by FlatbedKW

SpreadAxle Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 Here are 3 for the Ford CL 9000. The wavy stripes are available from JBOT.
SpreadAxle Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 I have here some line drawings for Kenworth K100s. There is a blank can, as well as the "Salem"(think BJ and the Bear) and "Lexington" paint schemes. The "Salem" stripes can be obtained through JBOT. Blank Salem Lexington
SpreadAxle Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Now these should be helpful. In the '80s, it seems that AMT/ERTL/Matchbox made their instruction sheets in a way that they fit nicely in a 3 ring binder. Each has a nice line drawing of the truck's right side on the cover. So I scanned and cropped these pix. They should be actual size(in comparison to the plastic cab/hood/sleeper) Just print, and draw your stripe patterns. As far as the stripes shown in the pix, they are the kit stripes for each kit . They could be edited out. Here is the KW W925 The Midnight Express Pete 359 The AMT GMC General
SpreadAxle Posted November 1, 2009 Author Posted November 1, 2009 Ok. It's been awhile since I've added to this page. Here are some cool Brockways, a Diamond Reo, and for those of us with International 9670 kits from KFS or SourKraut, a pattern for that truck as well. Brockway 761 Same colors as the now defunct West Coast Truck Line. Nice paintjob. I've never seen this cab(same as Mack F and Hayes) with the chrome fenders. I think it looks nice. International 9670 XL The sleeper is just like the one from AMT's KW W925. Nice Seminole Stripe pattern.
SpreadAxle Posted November 1, 2009 Author Posted November 1, 2009 Bulldog twins and triplets. I thought these Macks looked cool together. 1978 1980
SpreadAxle Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 Lately I've been seeing lots of Ford WT9000s being built or scratchbuilt on the various forums. So here's one from the 1974 brochure. The same page is in the 1977 brochure.
t.boerschinger Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Cool stuff, this material is very valuble to modelers & real truck builders.
trev0006 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 (edited) These look very nice. Bulldog twins and triplets. I thought these Macks looked cool together. <img src="http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb174/flatbedkw/Misc%20reference%20pix/mack20a_jpg.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> 1980 <img src="http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb174/flatbedkw/Misc%20reference%20pix/80R.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb174/flatbedkw/Misc%20reference%20pix/05-16.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image"tirescars /> Edited April 20, 2010 by trev0006
SpreadAxle Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) The Kenworth K100 Club has posted a K100 paintbook with schemes and color patches. Check it out. I think there will be more added as time passes. JBOT Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 WOW! It only took me 2 years since the first message was posted in this thread for me to find it. I am Jim, the owner/operator of JBOT DECALS. I see there are lots of drawings here for different truck striping packages. And I see Tim Ahlborn is here too. HI TIM! Anyway, I just wanted to let all of you know that I am back. I have expanded my truck striping options. They are all available here: http://www.jbot.ca/trucks.shtml You are welcome to write to me if you have a special truck striping request. Thank you!
