Saltie Olds
I’ve always liked these KUV Service Vans and I’ve been curious what the body would look like on a Chevy G30 van. So I’m taking my second Foxy Box Van and going to build my own version of one. At some point, I’m going to do the same thing with a AMT Snap Fast Dodge Ram 2500. That one will be able to have the service body removed, so that I could go to a pickup and service truck easily. Saltie Olds
I got more of the Boyd done. I’ll be using parts from the AMT Firestones F-Aeries truck to convert it into a 4x4.
Saltie Olds
So now I just need to fill in all the seams, build the doors, and fill in the gaps in the front of the service body.
mikemodeler
Why not use the chassis from an MPC GMC Deserter pickup? It's the correct scale and more accurate for a GM van than using Ford running gear.

All I’d be using the Ford truck for the front axle, front drive shaft, and control arms.

Considering that you are talking about using a Ford axle under a GM and while it may fit, would be considered incorrect. The 4x4 conversions of the GM vans used leaf springs and not the coil spring/control arm set up that Ford used.

I’m going to have to look into that and see how accurate I want the front end to be. I know doing the front coils will give me the ride height I’m wanting. mikemodeler
Look at this listing, it should help you understand how they built these vans in the 1:1 world. This is an actual kit from long ago. https://www.ebay.com/itm/134192544320?hash=item1f3e7fba40:g:f0MAAOSw7J5i7q9T

Saltie Olds
I got the rear doors and rear bumper on. Now as long as the doors don’t keep me up at night, they could play their music all they want. LOL. Making a joke their for the band, The Doors. Saltie Olds
Got the front bumper build. In a couple days, I’ll sand everything smooth and be ready to paint it. I got my light bar done, now I just need to figure out how many lights I’m wanting on it.
