1/20 scale Union Porsche 930 Turbo

Recommended Posts

I picked up one of these at a church rummage sale the other day. I don't think Union ever did their own models, they just used other companies molds in their own boxes. But I don't recall ever seeing this specific large Porsche by anyone else. Anyone know who originally made this kit?

Yes, the red car. Who made the yellow version? Gunze?

A Japanese company named Edai Grip. They've done other kits in a variety of scales. I even found a 1/8 scale Porsche set up for radio control. Not sure the history of the company or if they still exist. My guess is they don't, that's why the kit ended up done by Union.

Eidai did a lot of kits of Japanese race cars very similar to our Can Am cars of the 60s and 70s. The engines were usually non existant or not realistic.
