Brief Saturday thread rules revu for those who stumble upon the  thread but don’t want to read the whole darned thing - choose a build subject that hasn’t yet been picked from the link at the top of the thread - so we want to avoid builds of the exact same entry - not a big problem for Cobra fans - given the number of race entries -

Andrew, That angle, and the bur looks familiar. Were/are you a dentist? I sell dental supplies and have those latch angle drives, the burs also. Impression material comes in handy for making molds to cast items.

So Ive got a better fit for the bonnet with the body And i can turn my attn to the rivets on the surface of the nose - still scratching my head on the hood bulge for the carbs - think that the shape on 2287 is a bit different than what I’ve got here …

By the way - do you think the latch type burs that you’ve got would work on a Foredom hand peice ??!

I don't see why not. Here's what one looks like. Lots of dental supplies help  in modeling.

This is a shot of the opening on the bonnett of 2287 that I took at the Simeone several years ago - when the car was brought for some exercise … again - this car is the most original Daytone Coupe - but it had gone through dozens  of changes in its competition life -  so I’ve got to make this change too - its a change - not really a correction ..

Porsche 904 - Cunningham #37

Even though this kit was released by Monogram I still think of it as an Aurora kit, one of their best.  I had forgotten how many parts it has.  The only thing I see that has changed in this release are the wheels. They are larger than the originals which I can live with though I will change the tires.  I have two big projects to finish so this might take a while.

I'm actually going to be doing a somewhat current version of the car. In 1965/66, Briggs Cunningham made a lighter rear deck that is on the car today. After the Sebring 1966 race, Cunningham retired the car, and it was on display at the Briggs Cunningham Automotive Museum in Costa Mesa, until 1987 when the cars were purchased by Miles Collier, who owns the 904 to this day.

When compared to drawings and the acme casting - the windshield and roof are much different - and the acme casting seems to Have more accurate fender lines  -  needs some more investigation - maybe the best thing to do is build a GTO chassis / engine to nail down the bonnett location of the hood and the depth of the windshield …

Well I see we have an impressive list of builders already signed up!!!!

Pierre, that Corvette is just awesome my friend.  Way to set the bar up there!

Andy,  You are making great progress on your body mods, love it.

Finally made some decisions on what to use for my Ferrari GTO car.  Some pics of the chassis 3223GT car from Ultimate Car Page.

For wheels I will use the really nice ones from the Protar kit...

For tires I will go with HRM's Dunlops.  Before I go much further I need to consult with the Ferrari expert, Mr. Bradford.
