Still have some to add to this: Chaparral 1 resin, 2J also resin, Indy 2k resin and the Chaparral Camaro conversion. Some of these brought back some fond memories. Thanks for suggesting this. I labeled all the pictures...lots of em...you asked for it. Early Aurora Chaparral 2. Lots of working features. Chaparral 2G. Motorized Japaneses kit...maybe LS The horribly inaccurate Otaki 1/28 Chaparral 2H. Built box stock because I didn't know any better at the time. The Chaparral 2A fgrom LS. It had cast metal fittings and wheels and i added the metal screen. The good ole Monogram with driver figure. Chaparral 2D from modellers. It has aged very well. diecast is Hot Wheels Unidentified 1/43 kit and Hot Wheels diecast. My original IMC build of the Chaparral 2E. I have since re-visited this kit and it is much whiter and stays together better. This is how you learn the clear enamel over white yellows like crazy. A couple of plastic Chaparral bodies, 1/55 from Hong Kong and 1/43 from ??????? 1/24 Fisher Chaparral 2F...my very first resin kit. Very early Lancer HO clear body mounted on a T-jet chassis and never raced. It was too pretty. Interesting note: do you know why the ends of the wings were painted red. At the risk of sounding like a know it all, a couple of corrections: Gary, the cars you identified as 2Cs are actually Chaparral 2As. Rich, the LS Chaparral is a 2C. The 2A was originally just called the 2, it wasn't until after the 2C was produced that they added the A to the earlier models. Yes, it can be a little confusing - even more so when you realize that certain chassis were developed into later incarnations, so they never all existed as discreet cars. Also have a built IMC Chaparral 2E somewhere in my collection. Also here is a great pic (from the internet) of the Jim Hall's Chaparral reunion. My introduction to Chaparrals was a 1/24 Cox ‘2’ (2A?) slot car that my dad gifted me back when it was first issued (1965?) which, along with a Model Rectifier controller, brought big track slot car racing into my childhood. IIRC, It seemed like Cox used actual magnesium for the wheels and chassis although it could have just been corroded low-alloy aluminum? Fun times. I have yet to build any scale model Chaparrals but have picked up 4-5 of the 1/32 slot car versions that have been issued over the last few decades. The most impressive collection of scale model Chaparrals that I recently saw was displayed at the IPMS Nationals in Chattanooga in 2019: Unfortunately I failed to record the name of the person who built/ displayed these beauties when I photographed them at the “display only” area of the contest, maybe someone here knows who built these and can give them credit?
