I wouldn’t be feeling gold or light blue pearl either.  My dad had a burgandy 66 but the only pick is black and white. I have seen burgundy 66 at a car show and on the road..

I was thinking that too Carl. The only reason I'm not painting it that color is that I already have three models painted that color.

With my '62 Galaxie done, it's time to get back on this one. I got my colors picked out finally. They're Tamiya TS-78 Field Gray for the body and Tamiya TS-5 Olive Drab for the interior. After going over the body with 1000 grit, I could start spraying a bit of paint. I shot the headliner with a couple of coats of Olive Drab.

I then taped off the body and shot a couple of coats of Field Gray on the underhood area and the underside of the hood.

The Field Gray will get a coat of Tamiya TS-65 Clear Pearl followed by TS-13 clear.

First two coats of paint on the body!

For some reason, the color isn't showing right. My tablet has problems with green. I also got the frame/floorpan, seats and door panels painted. I'll give this a light sanding with 1000 grit. Then I'll spray a coat of paint, let it dry a few minutes and spray a coat of pearl clear.

Welp, I ended the old year and started the new year with covid! Still recovering. I made the mistake of dragging myself out to the garage with the idea of doing a mockup with the Goat. Bad idea! I had forgot that I had to install the floorpan in a different manner than usual. Like an idiot, I spread it too far and cracked the quarter panel AGAIN! So, I glued it again, filled the crack with crazy glue, gave it a light coat of Tamiya White Putty and sanded it smooth.

Then I cut a corner out of a piece of paper, held it just off of the body and shot a coat of primer.

Once it's ready, I'll sand and shoot a couple coats of color, sand and shoot the whole thing. Minor setback. But, it's still annoying. Especially when I did something stupid to cause it. At least I didn’t have to strip it and start over!

Thanx Mathias! I'm just trying to push through. I think I've turned the corner with the covid deal.

I got the quarter panel back in paint. I took it outside for a photo to see if the color would show better. It did make a difference. Once this is dried well, I can sand it, get a coat of color and a coat of pearl on. I shot a coat of pearl on the floorpan and really like how it looks!

Roger, what's going on with this? I was thinking the other day I haven't seen this thread in a while

Sadly, just a few days after his last update apparently Roger passed away. (Jan 4)

That is horrible. The community has lost another talented human being.

That is such a shock! I was enjoying watching this project and enjoyed talking with him about his fantastic builds. Does anybody know him or his family? I know he lived a little over 3 hours east of me here in Kentucky. I would love to get this project and finish it in his honor. He was such a talented builder.
