Very nice Mario and very cool backdrop.   Hmmmm....thought I heard "La Grange" playing in the back ground there.

Thanks Rich, always been a fan of that car.

Nice looking model!  👍  I am a ZZ Top fan so I should look for one of those kits.

Joe

Thanks Joe. Try to pick the most recent issue, the decals lay down easy.

Paint has a smooth, natural gloss. Did you use an airbrush or spray can?

Thanks Harry. The paint is pure red Tamiya spray lacquer coated with TS13 clear. I like the way it lays down. One trick that helps is putting the can in hot water for a couple of minutes before you spray it. I start with 2-3  mist coats, wait 30 minutes and spray 2-3 wet coats. For custom colors , I mix their acrylic bottled paint and airbrush it.

Good-looking street rod, Mario ! How is your experience with Tamiya colors (I just bought myself 9 cans)?

Thanks Helmut. I rarely use anything else for the bodies. Tamiya spray lacquers either TS or AS maybe a little pricy but they do work, no guessing. They  lay down very smooth. I also use their primer which is very thin and smooth. For custom colors I use their acrylic bottles clear coated with TS13. I also use different paint for interiors or engine but for the bodies I use Tamiya and occasionally Alclad. What really works for me is to apply 3 to 4 mist coat and leave rest for a day then I apply 3 or 4 coats of successively heavier coats.

regards,
