Pierre Rivard Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 These are fresh photos of a build from about 3 years ago but never presented on this forum. A bit of a fantasy build of finding one of the 57 Chevy Black Widow race cars in a barn. Both the car and pick-up are mostly OOB builds with the focus kept to experimenting with paint finishes. This was all done with brushes & small sponges using mostly Vallejo paints, washes and weathering products. The car is presented as found after decades in a barn. I wanted the truck to appear well maintained but with a bit of patina. Thank you for looking 7
afx Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 I noticed the Black Widow in the background of some of the photos you posted, thanks for giving it a spotlight along with the tow vehicle.
Pierre Rivard Posted December 12, 2022 Author Posted December 12, 2022 Forgot to show the underside, here it is, 1 1
catpack68 Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Looks great Pierre! The weathering looks perfect. The truck looks good too?
MarkJ Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Wow, Pierre. The realism of this build is off the charts. You have a special talent for weathering for sure.
TransAmMike Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Very cool Pierre, great job on the Widow?
TooOld Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Great work Pierre , that's the most realistic looking weathering I've seen !
Pierre Rivard Posted December 14, 2022 Author Posted December 14, 2022 Thank you guys for the feedback. It was a fun build and I used it to develop ideas on weathering techniques. All of this in preparation for this one done last year. This one was not fictional, it's a replica of James Hilton's Charger as it was in 2014. 2

Bainford Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 Very cool build, Pierre. Your weathering looks spot on. 1

Mattilacken Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Beautifull build m8! Great work on the weathering on both trucks! The truck looks just right for a used truck, its hard to get that out of a model, semi flat paint and al! 1
Dan Hay Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 That’s killer! I really need to learn how to do weathering.

Lot's of great info on the net about weathering techniques. Unfortunately most of them I can't use because I don't have an airbrush or the possibility of spraying (condo living). Considering I can only use brushes I'm happy with the results. 1

That’s even more impressive knowing you only use brushes! Amazing!
stavanzer Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 What an Awesome Set of Vehicles , Pierre! I could look at this for hours, and still not see everything you did. Good Show.
Jim N Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Great work Pierre. The weathering is outstanding.
TarheelRick Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Sure glad these builds came back up; I missed them first go around. As the others have said this is some excellent weathering, also like the 'almost gloss' on the pickup. One question I have, not just about yours, but any 'barn finds', is where are the bird droppings? Every time I uncover my pontoon, the cover is layered in bird droppings. And that is normally once or twice a week, something found in a barn after several years should be covered in guano. Still, these builds are some really nice work.
