Sorry I didn't respond to this earlier, but this is really doable. I know there are several casters that sell them, but printing them would be easy too.

So, I have looked for a Revell, and they are all $150-300+. Not happening. AMT kits are out there for under $50 and on the shelf today.

What dash would the K100E have? If I did a full cab, could both a flat top and Aerodyne be used on the AMT chassis?

I have a Revell cab I'm sending you, I'll get in the mail first of the week. I'm also going to post some measurements I took of an E model that might help out.

Of course I do.

Here is a couple where I have compared both, the yellow one is the Revell Germany dash and the white one is the AMT dash, they are slightly different but very similar in size.20230206_202252.thumb.jpg.8ac96142abe476bc3352a4c68734931d.jpg

Speaking of Kenworth.
I would like to see these battery box/tool box covers with the off center steps for the W900, drivers side and passenger side are mirrored and both fits on either side so you can sometimes see the step more towards the front and some have it more towards the rear.
This to be able to do a correct replica of the Movin' On trucks from both seasons wich have these covers on all 4 trucks.
The battery/tool box covers available with a step are the ones from the Revell Germany W900 like the recently reissued W900 Dump Truck, the the step in those are slightly wider and centered.

This, I hope will be close enough.  According to the pictures, there is no Diamond plate on the sides, or the sides of the steps. I just may print a set to see how they look in the real world. And Yes, the lower step has holes all the way through like the real thing.

OK, some research shows that the dash is the same for the K100E. So that helps.

Yes, the E model har the same dash as the C model Aerodynes, and that goes for both the E model Flat Top and Aerodyne cabs, so the dash you have done will work just fine for the E model.

Ok, I have to make one more adjustment. The top step seemed too low, I raised it up. Added the flange under the step.

Yes a little tweak was necessary and maybe even a bit more, the upper surface of the step should be slightly below the bottom of the curved part and it could be even slightly higher, and the radius of the curved part could be slightly sharper and this would move the step and handles up even more and it will be close to perfect according to my nitpicking eye. 😉

You are right, the sides of the battery boxes are steel and don't have any diamond plate, it's only the covers that are aluminum diamond plate.
There seems to have been a couple different patterns for the lower step used on the W900 battery boxes and one I have seen on many trucks is like you can see below but the one you did will work just fine and you don't have to change it if you don't want to.

Wow, thats wonderful. Thanks.

No problem, like I said, it's got a bit of a twist in it and I got a replacement when they reissued these kits so I'm more than happy to donate it to the cause.

I'm going to go ahead and post these measurements so they're here, if you need anything else let me know since the truck I have access to doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The grille for the Revell kit is the right size, it just needs the sharper upper corners added and faceted surround instead of round.

Here's a thing to watch out for when looking for reference pics. I've seen three different front lower corners for the cabs, two of which won't work for the kit without moving the front axle back. I wanted to point it out to avoid confusion.

This is the one that will work with the kit as is.

This is the most common of the two corners for the longer spring, slightly set back front axle. Notice the wider separation between the rubber trim and body line as it gets closer to the headlight.

R.jpg.8ef53467af47ac4b105a8c774a68ef63.jpg

This is the other, less common lower corner. This time the trim is the same as above but the body line is different.

Here’s another K100c to K100e change. It looks like the slightly raised center section of the roof above the cab on the C models was eliminated for the E models. It may still be there, but it’s, at least, greatly reduced. I think this holds true for both the Aerodyne and the Flat Top models.

It’s the area right below the center three clearance lights. It’s hard to find good reference photos, but here’s what I’ve got so far.

I’d still like to find a high-angle shot of the E model roof. Why are we always taking photos of tall trucks from the ground! 😆

It does appear to be flat to me. There are also variations of the ladders, and the grille is slightly different with sharper angles.

Ok, I got a good dash to print out. I should have cleaned it a little better, so ignore the shiny spots and fuzzy areas, that was me.

I'm going to go back and increase the size and depth of a few things. While they are the right size in scale, once printed it would be very difficult to detail as the features are just too small. They printed, they are there, but good luck painting them.

I discovered this on things like panel gaps. You have to exaggerate them a bit in scale, so that once printed they show up well enough to clearly detail.

Very interested in flared out fender extensions  in 1/25 as shown in photo. In 1:1 they are rubber, but of course, resin will do.

s-l1600 - 2023-02-25T082951.204 (2).jpg

I will have to think about these. Super easy to draw, like 3 minutes. The issue will be printing them. If done with normal resin, they will print, but I fear they will warp due to the small size. I also am worried about them just breaking due to the size.

I have 2 possible thoughts on this. 1. print them as part of a panel. Like in the picture, they would be attached to a flat sheet, you would then either cut it off, or graft the panel into the model.

Option 2. There is a tough rubber resin. It is black (or clear) and the parts would not break, very very strong. The down side is price. This resin would be 2 times the cost of normal. So, these parts, while printed in a very durable black rubber like material, would be a little more cost.

Now, I don't do the printing, so this would be up to Charles if he even wanted to bother, but just know these come with a bit of a challenge just due to the size and shape.

Here's a couple for you:

How about a proper bench seat for the AMT Ford C-series cab?  The bucket seats in the kit were only offered in the C9000.

A turbo conversion for the Caterpillar 3208 (or whatever it is) in the AMT Ford LNT8000?

First one is easy, I would just need to find a truck and get some measurements from it.

The second I would need pictures of the Turbo engine, but seems doable.

I really wanted to print the tread fully open, but with the required supports, it doesn't keep all the holes open. So, I think I will change that, but otherwise they seem to look good.

Ignore the missing handles, that was my fault.

Nice, the curved part on top could maybe have a sharper radius as it looks a bit too round, that will also put the step slightly higher.

As you say, some things needs to be exaggerated some to look right, but overall it looks good.

Hey Scott, where are we with the K100 Aerodyne dash?

So, this is the current status of the dash. I need to print one more and maybe tweak a few things, but it should be as close as you can get to the original. A few of the smaller details will need to be enlarged a bit, as they print so small, the detail is there, but you need a magnifier to see it. I am thinking of scaling a few things up, so that there is a detail large enough to paint.
