Monogram Boss 302 T/A #16

Recommended Posts

I started this project back in the 1990’s as I wanted to build this car and at the time all there was available was the Boss 429 kit and Fred Cady decals.  The body mods and paint was the easy part.  After looking at nooks and magazines I realized the stock interior would be completely worthless and of course there wasn’t a good Boss 302 at that times so I put it away for a very long time.  At some point I bought a diecast of a 69 Boss 302 TA and wondered if the interior would fit.  With some creativity I go it to fit and i had a pretty good engine so I used the block and headers and other parts to replicate the 70 engine compartment which had a different air box.  The wheels and tires are from Historic Racing Miniatures and decals are Fred  Cady and my spares.  Paint is Model Car World when they sold some colors in spray cans.

I plucked the 1/43 kit I built man years ago out of the display case but I must have painted them at different times as the colors are quite different.  The 1/43 is by Performance Detail products and was a very nice kit and it’s a shame that more 1/24 or 1/25 domestic kits do not come with photoetch parts.

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone.
