Salvinos JR 1971 Petty Plymouth

I finished this one a couple of weeks ago and finally had time to take some photos . The last NASCAR kit I built was back in the early 70's when I built some of the MPC kits so this was basically all new to me .

I hinged the hood and trunk and added a bunch of details to the engine and interior , most of which will never be seen again so I added a few extra photos at the end of this post . Paint is Tamiya TS-23 Light Blue cleared with TS-13 .  Overall a really nice kit , too bad it was such a limited run .  All comments are welcome , thanks for looking !

Bob, I am a huge fan of your work. Your w.i.p. was a pure delight to follow and what you have done pushes the realism through the ceiling.

The ultimate lesson in scale model building, period.

Thanks very much Pierre !  I was a little out of my comfort zone building a NASCAR kit so I guess over compensated by going all out . Lot's of do overs during the build , I started it back on Thanksgiving !

Bob,

Great build especially the upholstery on the seat.  If you enjoy the mopars and the salvino kit all his chrysler kits are pretty much the same.  That's why the 2 piece chassis with pin holes to move the wheel base.  Then he puts the different engine in it and wheels and here you go.  Not sure about about other car makes in the 70s era because I only build the mopars.  I do know his 80s kits are monogram kits w new decals.

Thanks Jeffrey !  They're basically the same as MPC kits from the 70's with new bodies , same type of chassis/suspension with an updated generic roll cage/interior and engine . They change the valve covers and intake for different kits but the rest is the same .
