BlackSheep214
Amen! Last night as I was enjoying a read, I'm hearing fireworks going off in my neighborhood. I'm thinking who the hell shoots fireworks off on Memorial Day weekend!?!? Of course, they were these stupid Bosnian/ Russians/ Ukrainians neighbor that think Memorial Day is for fireworks. Irritated the hell out of me that they don't understand the true meaning of Memorial Day. These idiots don't get it as a day we celebrate in quiet remembrance to those that sacrificed their lives. BlackSheep214
But... I did plant flowers on all 3 graves of my family - 2 served in the military - my dad in the Navy (after Korea) and my grandfather (b. 1900; d. 1980) whom I was very close to, served during WW1 months before Armistice was declared. My dad's father never served in the military - too young for WW1, too old for WW2. Edited May 29, 2023 by BlackSheep214

ChrisBcritter
My dad and uncles all came home in one piece - but not before one of them made some of the enemy die for their country, as Patton would put it.
