coopdad
There has got to be someone here that knows a lot about Ford paint from the 60's and 70's. I need to find paint to match Poppy Red, metallic blue, and Wimbledon White. Anyone know a source for these colors, preferably in spray cans? Thanks, John
roadhawg
Model Car World should have what you need. Most of his stuff is in bottles, but he has some select colors in spray cans.
LUKE'57
Looks like you're building some Fords. If you happen to run across some Calypso Coral in the late '60's early '70's Mercury colors it's the same as Poppy Red but you need to be a little more specific than just metallic blue if you're going for a certain year as Ford had a lot of different shades of that. This is the cage I am building on a 1969 Bronco. I have been told is called "metallic blue" and was used a lot back then on racers back then. And yes, this racer was not built by Ford. Thanks for the info about Calypos Coral. John Edited March 27, 2009 by coopdad
Guest Gassersgarage
Hey coopdad, Ford colors are highly over rated, use some MOPAR colors! What side of K'ville you on? Gasser Edited March 27, 2009 by Gassersgarage

Gasser Their paint might be over rated but their cars/trucks are aren't! I live on your side, the West side (Cedar Bluff area). Are you going to the model contest tomorrow? Scalefinishes
I have the Ford colors but not in spray cans (yet). That "Metallic Blue" looks allot like Ford Viking Blue used on the cobra. http://allthingscobra.tripod.com/imagelib/...;target=tlx_new Jameston
brians
coopdad - Model Master laquer paints has Wimbledon White in a spray paint. Also, the blue you may be looking for is Guardsman Blue, MCW has both airbrush and spray paint.

coopdad
Gasser, it will be held tomorrow at the Civic Coliseum in Knoxville. http://www.magazinepublisher.com/models/minicon2009.pdf I am going to try to make it but my den is also having their pinewood derby at noon. Everything seems to happen on the same weekends. Thanks all for the paint options. I have to go out tonight and will see what I can find at the local hobby store.
