slant6
I know Ive seen tip on window tinting somewhere on this forum, and Ive searched for it, but I cant find it. Ive tried that "Tint" spray paint once, with really bad results. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
JamesW
All I do is paint the INSIDE of the window black. Works good if you don't want to be able to see through the window. Here are a couple of examples: Edited September 18, 2009 by grimreaper
slant6
I thought about that, I blacked out the headlights and taillights. I want some light to come thought the windows, not a very dark tint just what would look a little darker than factory. I also considered getting some scraps from the tinter at work, but I dont see him very often, and I dont know how well it would work. JamesW
Try mixing a little thinner with the paint. It should thin it enough to make it fairly transparent.
slant6
That sounds good. I think Ill try that. Will it matter if its gloss, flat or semi?
Brendan
Why not go to an auto parts store and buy some window tinting material? That's what I used to do. You can also go to places that do window tints and ask for their scraps. Most of the places are happy to give it to you. Just explain to them what you're going to do with it. Roadkill2525
Tamiya Smoke (bottle X-19 and spray TS-71) I use this with good results, the bottle stuff can be airbrushed and used as a wash when thinned down. The rear windows and sunroof when done with the spray, mask and spray in light mists
