rtcarey11
The body is not done yet, I still have some work to do around the headlights, windshield , storage doors and install all the rivets. I am trying to have this done by NNL East. Ray Carey rtcarey11

Wmija
Thanks Ray, Wow, That's a very cool looking rig indeed. Has the real truck had the rivets removed from the front, looks very smooth in the pic. Great work! Regards, Wayne
rtcarey11
The rivets are still on the front of the real truck. I have made more progress on the trailer. More pics coming soon. Ray Carey rtcarey11
rtcarey11
Here are some more pics of the trailer and cab. I drilled 815 holes in the cab and I still have more to do. I haven't finished the rivets yet so I can finish the body work in those areas. Edited January 1, 2010 by rtcarey11
Wmija
I really admire your dedication to the details Ray. 815+ holes . . . Holy Cow !! I was going to order 500 rivets, but I guess I'd better verify what I need first. Please post cab pics, esp the roof if you have any . . . Looking forward to seeing this one come along . . . Wmija
Wow . . . I guess it's true what they say, that a picture is worth a thousand rivets, . . . or something to that effect !! lol Very impressive Ray . . . Thanks very much for the cab pics. This is going to be a killer-looking rig when it's done . . . looking forward to it. Best regards, Wayne
Old Albion
Ray, This is looking great so far. I like the rivet detail. I get mine from Scale Hardware http://www.scalehardware.com/ They are expensive. I could do with finding another supplier who makes them in plastic. These I think would be cheaper and easier to work with. Good Luck with the rest of the build Dave
rtcarey11
The rivets are from Titchy Train Group. The size is .030" ; they come in packs of 200 for $2.50. They have them in .020,.025,.030 and .035 sizes. very easy to work with; just cut off the tree and drill a #77 hole. Put a touch of glue on the stem and drop it in. Mr mopar
Look's awesome so far........... I'm doing the same thing you are!is the rivit head's just the right size or could they be smaller?
rtcarey11
You could go with .025 but I wouldn't go any smaller. By the time you put on a couple coats of primer and paint you will take away from the size.
