Hey Bill, glad you're here. There is an option to "share photo" on Fotki.

Click the link and & paste the link here.

If you want the pic to show here just put before & after the link.

Hope that makes sense.

I'm still trying to figure out how to post pics here, so here's a link to my progress.

http://public.fotki.com/bills69camaro/

Click on the blue "Share photo" button below the photo.

Then click "More Sharing Options" at the very bottom.

Then copy the line of gibberish in the window that says "Code for Forums"...

and paste that gibberish here...

and you get the picture, along with a link back to the Fotki home page... like this:

Hi LDO,

Yes I did cut up a 1/24 scale model to get the basic shapes. I have a 1:1 camaro in my garage that I used for measurements.

The model is 100% scratch built except for nuts, bolts and springs, the plan is to make a kit, but there are so many parts

I'm not sure when I'll be finished. Thanks for looking!

Wow. I've always wondered about the feasibility of that idea.

Hmmm...

This is incredible work! Yes, you MUST make a kit for the rest of us!:)

I have a question though. What are you using for fan belts? And what size are the nuts and bolts you are using? I am going to try to use some on my TDR SBC kit, which is also 1/8.

Hi Hawk312,

I molded and cast the belts, I made a triangle shape from styrene and cast them, 15 shore A polyurethane elastomer from BJB Enterprises, It's a little

soft, could go to a 42 shore A.

The nuts and bolts are 0090 brass I buy from J.I. Morris Co.

I did a little more work on the camaro, painted the exhaust system, bent up the fuel and brake lines and made some clips to hold them in place,

painted the gas tank and made straps to hold it in place, mounted the shocks front and rear, and added the sway bar with links.

I will be working on the wire harness next and making more engine compartment parts. Also will be making decals and stickers.

Thanks guys! Al the texture on the brakes was done with the airbrush, you mix the paint a little thicker and turn the air pressure way down to about 5 lbs.

the size of the dots depends on how thick the paint is and how much pressure you use. Lets say you mix the paint a little thicker than milk, with a low pressure

you can get a texture you can feel. There are many variables, how thick you mix the paint, high or low the air pressure, and distance to the work close or far, the higher

the pressure the smaller the dot, the lower the pressure the bigger the dot.

Could also use pieces of sandpaper glued to the surface of the brake pads.

Thanks Skip, I haven't heard that one before.

Yes Harry I could glue sand paper but that would be too easy. Like Al says (old hermit) "do something nobody has done before".

I know many great models have been built from scratch by some great model makers, but not a 1/8 scale 1969 Camaro, not that I'm aware of.

If I'm wrong, I stand corrected.
