Been floating around the forum for a while now, and thought I would share...

This was my first ever build, finished it up a few months ago.

Somewhere along the line the rear valence got lost, and the chassis got warped, but not bad for a first build in my opinion.

Colour was a Toyota Med pearl something sprayed over Duplicolour Black primer. Future floor polish for clear coat over top of the decals.

James, great job on your first build.

Hope we get to see more of your builds, and watch you build some really great models along the way.

Thanks again guys.

To give you all some background, I'm a licensed Automotive Journeyman, and the shop I work at has been known to build the odd drag/street car. The last couple where a 67 Chevy C10 that ran a 14 flat in the 1/4 mile, of which I did everything but building the engine and the body work and my own personal car which made 267HP at the wheels through a 1.6L turbo engine, which I built from the crank up in my basement. Currently we are working at a '80 Malibu with a zz4 crate engine. Hoping for 12 seconds!

My specialty is wiring and final assembly and anything that requires a little "special" attention, so yeah, I know my way around a vehicle, and keeping it clean is what I do.

But this was my first venture into scale building, I recently sold my stuff do to some life changes and now play at something that cost $50 instead of $5000

If anyone is interested, I just started my first Work in progress thread.

Thanks again for the support, hopefully my stay here is a good one.

Great build James. When people ask why the right front tire don't sit flat just tell 'em it had a whole shot off the line and with so much torque the frame twisted.

As I recall that is how they twist when they come off the line.

:) Your build looks great! I like the colour and the stock appearance and I really like the subject. Nice and clean and uncluttered - as I like a model to be.. nice job!!! If this is your forst build, I can only imagine where you will go from here! :):):)

Daggum!! That's a sweet Chevelle. My first build was a 70 Chevelle, but I chose the blown 454 and slicks. 90% of my pain choice was flat black. my dog got a hold of it and half ore it to pieces. I miss it. it sure was awesome. The Chevelle is the perfect first build and that's comin from a die hard ford man.
