49 Ford Sectioned Custom Rebuild Done

Recommended Posts

I was unhappy with how the wheelwells turned out on the first go round. It took me a couple of

years to ponder this and I took a crack at re-doing them by grafting in some stock wheelwells

and re-radiusing them. I am pleased with the results this time.

Love your custom Dave - smile.gif

All the body work goes nicely together, and the color really fits the car, and looks great.

Leaving the top the stock height is SOOO COOOL cool.gif .

Great job Dave - THD

That's almost unrecognizable as a '49 Ford! Nice custom work... B)

Simple, cooly elegant, with nice tasty details. Love the Lucas beams, the Dodge grill and the rear fender treatment with the nice tailights and exhausts. And, of course, who can ever object to Studebaker 'caps!cool.gifsmile.gif

Thats some good work. Little bit of history on a side note. The reason some cars were sectioned like this with a stock height top by customizers was to give them more of a european look.

Sectioned shoebox Fords look good, and this is a great example, well done.

Great custom! I like the taillights and exhaust tips. The Chevy grille is just right, as is the whole "look" of the model. Very good work!

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words. I just wanted to add a couple of photos, the engine, a parts box assemblage and the Thunderbird interior which fits in like it was made for it.

Terrific looking build, Dave. I like what you did with the taillight & exhaust and headlight treatment.

Excellent body work. It does have a European look to it, almost like a Ghia design.

That is very sharp! I just started an old shoebox convert. but I have no idea which direction I want to go. I like this look though.
