chrismooney Posted February 21, 2011 Share Posted February 21, 2011 I only use Krylon.. (Its cheep and works great on resin)... I always apply krylon Primer first.. And after that is dry for a day I apply Light mist coats of color about every 15 min apart but no more than 30-40 min. After you build up the color apply two to three wet coats and let dry for a day or two then polishes. If you apply the coats 40+ mins apart the coat under seams to off-gas and craze the paint job. Or you will get really fine bubbles.. so the rule is a coat every 15 to 30 min or you have to wait a few days... and if you have a color coat on and need to wait a day or two (works if using a two tone paint job) always apply mist coats to soften up the dried paint under and let the older coat and new coat bond... It might craze or sometimes melt it, depending if you applied a primer or not, along with if the plastic seems a little "Soft" for the application.
