Greg Cullinan
I have this idea of a hot rod duece with a retro type tear drop trailer. I will use the new Revell 32 Ford and a resin teardrop trailer(thanks Len ). Just getting started, well believe it or not I already have a few hours into the trailer. Made a frame and axle out of sprue and have a hitch from parts box in mind and also made fenders from sheet styrene. Bear with me,thanks for checking it out and any ideas are welcome. Greg Cullinan
Where did you get the tear drop from. I got lucky and found it through the Wanted section here and made a trade. I have seen a Jimmy Flinstone teardrop and a teardrop from the Australian store that sells the Uncertian T on Ebay. The Flintstone teardrop is also available on Ebay. I believe they go for $20 roughly. Edited October 26, 2010 by Greg Cullinan
Greg Cullinan
Looking good so far. Any ideas on colors? G Thinking two tone, possibly blue/silver or maroon/silver. Very preliminary though. I probably should have a game plan laid out .
Greg Cullinan
Off to a good start. How do you heat the fenders after there clamped in the shape you want? I used very thin sheet styrene (.010) and used the clamps(24 hrs) to add a little curvature, then allowed the glue to do the rest. Possibly since I have the skirts on the outside of the fenders I was able to use the thin styrene. I'm not sure if the .010 would look to thin with exposed edges. * I tried multiquote but it was all jumbled together.
