CAL
It's based on the 612 660hp AWD people carrier. Edited January 21, 2011 by CAL
sjordan2
I just took a look at it on ultimatecarpage. com. That has the most aggressive nose treatment I've ever seen. http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/4708/Ferrari-FF.html
Zoom Zoom
It's not based on the 612, it is the replacement of that car, much as the 612 replaced the 456. I like it...it's definitely a polarizing design, much like the California which I continue to despise. I'll have to wait to see it in the flesh, but I assume I'm going to like it a lot. I hated the 599 and 612 when they came out, now w/time and better colors & wheels & packages, they're favorites. The 458 was lust at first sight...even more so in person. The California...complete disappointment, even worse in person. Like black stretch pants on a 350lb. woman in Kmart...you're not hiding anything back there. At all. If one is registered on Ferrarichat, on the FF thread there are more photos of the car from inside Ferrari. Lots of people shocked/amazed/terrified/hateful of the kammback, but it serves its purpose. It looks 10,000 times better than the bulbous Panamera which tries to hard to look like a Porsche but utterly fails due to horrific proportions. It should have been a kammback, not a "potato butt"
crispy
I like the way it looks on all sides. Like Bob said it's polarizing. Reminds me a lot of a BMW Z3, only more curvaceous. Chris
kerc
So Ferrari were the ones who ended up creating a modern Lamborghini Espada. Who would've thought? Lovely design, I think Ferrari outdid themselves this time.
The Creative Explorer
Don't like it, although it looks a bit better than the ###### Ferrari has designed after the 360. I hope that Ferrari starts soon to make beautiful cars again, if I had the money, I would not buy a Ferrari anymore and that is too bad, since I've liked Ferrari as I was little. Zoom Zoom
Hopefully we'll get a kit of this from Revell Germany sooner than later. I could get excited about building a few of these! I could live with that, but in the interim I really...really want Revell Germany to do the 599 GTO. I'm about to embark on the GTB, now that I found a color scheme that I like. Rob Hall
Beauty in the eye of the beholder part II: To my eyes the Ferrari 360 is the absolute least interesting Ferrari in the history of the company. It committed the ultimate sin for an exotic car, it was boring to look at. But, enough people liked it to keep Ferrari in business, and to Fiat that's all that mattered. The 430 may not be a classic beauty, but at least it had some aggression...looking at a 360 works better than counting sheep for me. But, for every person like me, there's someone who loves it. That's the great thing about design. The same thing doesn't look the same to any 2 people. Agreed about BitEotB...I like the styling of the 360 way more the 430, I find the 430 too busy in the details and esp. don't like the taillights. Haven't seen the 488 in person yet, but like it overall from the photos. Stylistically, my least favorite Ferrari designs of recent decades are probably the 348 and the dull Mondial.
