AMT 1992 Ford SWB 2wd

P3130001.jpg

Using much of the stock 2wd suspenion but lifted it 6"inches

P3130002.jpg

I lifted the front first since I knew it would probly give me the most grief

Naaa, Not today it didn't ;)

I will beef of the lifting blocks to look more realistic later.

Movin on to the rear.

Wheels will be the stock front Fords and tires will be.

still thinking. :P

see this is the type of things I'm wanting to learn.. what did you use to make the flare? I hear the word "styrene" so much but no hobby store I've went to has a clue what I'm talking about ;) I know I can order it online but that defeats the purpose when I never know what size I'll need....

oh yeah and what'd you use to stick them on? just glue?

Little bit of Super Glue and some AMBROID PROWELD Liquid Cement

I also have a semi Decent collection of EverGreen StripStyrene

Every time I get to a hobbie shop, I look at their stock and see what I don't have.

I gotta buy something whenever I get to one of my LHS, Even if it aint a model. ;)

I like this one! Around here we call these 'front-runners'... dunno why...

Front Runners, Pre Runners, Faux Runners.

Basically all the same but my Pre Runner is a Faux Runner.

Not really a Pre Runner but a Fake looking (Faux) Runner

Meaning, I don't have a whole lot of Pre Runner detail to it but it looks the part as a

daily driver.

For those keeping count and pixel count ;) I do keep my pics Pix count low.

I bit of work so far, I'm not fast tho, so just a lil bit of work.

Rear flare and other front flare

What wheels are you using on that, zuki?

I did similar to this w/ my '93 Ranger - only I flipped the I-beams, relocated the connectors, and lengthened the torsion bars. Then scratched some coil overs.

That still is a Great Looking Ranger :P

Too bad you deleted all the pics :o:lol:

I'd like to see it again.

I did think about flipping the I-beams since I remember it was a mod that people would do to the 1:1 but it didn't look like it would lift it much.

I'll have to save that idea for the next Ford :D

I'm not sure about my fender flares tho.

Should I sand them down to just a lip? They looked better in my head.

What wheels?? Don't know quit yet.

Right now I'm using the Deep Dodge wheels and stock backings.

Track looks to narrow.

What Tires?? Don't know.

Just heard back from Alan and hoping to get a set of those Goodyear Terra-Tires

to try on.

Sooo many tires, soo few correct options. :blink:B);)

I didn't delete them - they got shuffled in photobucket's big remodel a few months ago - & lost all my links (yeah - that's nice!)

All my ranger pics are here:

all of my pics can be found in the link in my sig....

WOW!! Very organized

Thanks, They tires measure out in 1:1 standards as 34x12.5/15 (in 1/25 scale)

I found the tires on a 4x4 Toy at a truckstop, haven't seen anymore since.

BTW: I sent the tire to Ma's Resins for casting. :PB)

A Little more work done.

Got the 4th flare on and sanded off some of the side trim for a Base Model truck.

Finally got the rear suspension done.

Nothing really major.

Made 6"inch lift blocks, 4 u-bolts and 8 nuts

Keep it all straight was the fun part and grabbing the wrong SuperGlue.

SuperThin Super Glue is not a Drip on from the bottle type of Glue

It's a Run all over the place glue. :o:lol:

P3230003.jpg

P3230005.jpg

BTW: This is not how you should lift a 1:1 truck 6"inches.

Final ride height with out anything but suspension holding it up and level :)

Alrighty then, A bit more work.

Can't have a Faux Runner with out the Pre Runner bumper

SO I spent half a day thinking of how to do it and how to make it.

I used 3/32 tube with a wire stuck in it to keep the bends.

Drill holes in the bumper to stick the Tube through, figured it'd be stronger than just glueing

it on the bumper.

I may not be fast but I'm still working :PB)
