Help with Pegasus tires

Recommended Posts

I have recently purchased a couple nice sets of Pegasus tires. Love em.

My problem is how do you connect these to the kits?

Most revell kits use a pin set-up and in my ignorance cannot figure out how to get these to connect.

Help this big dummy with connecting his wheels to his ride.... biggrin.gif

Cut, fit, mill, or drill the hubs.....or a combination of all!

The kit suspenssion I file flat and drill a 1/16" hole. Glue in a piece of 1/16" Evergreen rod. I normally use Tenax for that. Let dry. Cut the rod to length. Sometimes the stub in the middle of the Pegasus wheel needs to be shortened to fit under the wheelwheels. I use a Dremel tool for that portion. When haappy with the offset, glue the wheel to the Evergreen stub.

I'm pretty sure it's 1/16" Evergreen, but would have to check for sure. The size I use fits the Pegasus wheels just perfect.

would it still turn though or does this make it a static wheel ?

i really dont like building models with wheels that dont turn

thats one of the great things on the old MPC kit, that solid rear axle will take just about any wheel you can find
