1989 Jeep Wrangler Islander

As the title states, this build will be a scale model of what I would like my 1:1 Wrangler to look like when I do a body-off rebuild down the road. I recently obtained the Tamiya Wrangler kit from e-bay, and have been collecting parts from various other kits of mine (ones I might add were planned to be used on the other kits, but hey I wanted to go all out on this build! )

Using a resin-rubber set of Yokohama Mud Diggers from Ma's Resin, and stripping the chrome off the 5-spoke mag wheels from the Monogram Bronco (along with 1 wagon wheel from said kit for a spare) I painted the wheels silver along with drilling out the center of the spare. I think it gives it a nice retro look.

Drivetrain will consist of the engine and transmission from the AMT '95 Firebird (made to look like a '97 LT4 V8), transfer case from the Jeep kit, resin Dana 60/70 rear axle from Ma's Resin, and GM 10-bolt front axle from '99 Silverado kit (of course modified to be a front axle with offset diff). Got the engine stripped of paint and attached to the t-case to be ready for paint.

I Like it Jordan, any hints as too what the paint job will look like? also, the slotted Mags, they come in the Reissued Bronco? if so, all the more reason to buy 1 or 2 or..

Discospud is correct (they also did come in the older release with the orange Bronco on the box). As far as paint job, I'm going to do the Islander theme that came from the factory. If you're unaware of what that looks like, here's a reference (how the Jeep currently sits). :P

Hmmmm those Bronco kits may be just the thing I need then, thanks Guys, I wasn't sure if you were sticking with the stock scheme, (which I personally do like)

I'm actually going to stick with the stock t-case, since the 1:1 NP231 that came in the Wrangler was a great unit that could hold up to plenty of power (with a few minor upgrades).

Well I got the engine completed. Decided to go with orange plug wires for a bit of a custom touch, chrome exhaust manifolds, and yes that is a 4-barrel used for a throttle body, though you won't notice once the air piping is attached.

Thanks! I don't have any updates quite yet, though I'm getting close to done on the frame and suspension.
