Monogram 1940 Ford pickup

Well I dug up a couple old Monogram '40 Ford pickups from a box junk stash a friend gave me, one was the old Lemon Crate and the other a re-release in red. Both were in ruins but I had enough parts to get one together. (mostly from the red kit)

I used a Revell 5.0 HO Ford engine from the parts box, painted it Dark Bronze Metallic. Two tone tan/brown interior, lowered the rear and added bigger tires. The tonneau cover is also from the parts bin.

I will try to get it out in the sun tomorrow for some better photos. Hope everyone likes it!

Very nice save..... something special about these resto projects.

Love the color and the sight mods you made. Very "classy" and not overdone.

Got a few shots in the sun today, I think it looks much better in natural light!

Not my type of subject, but that is a beautiful piece of work, all around. While I don't like basic metallic paints at this scale, this bronze gives it a great custom metalflake look. Nice door upholstery and door frame detail. Congratulations.

I'm also not a fan of the out-of-scale metalflake, but that's just a personal preference. A job well done all around, it looks great. (looks like a real one in that first photo!)... ;)

BTW...

Man! That is one looooong shifter! :o

Thanks guys, I too have a dislike for the massive flake, but in this case, it looks much better in person. Just experimenting with new colors... :D

Very cool man, just remember that metal flakes and sunshine don't go hand in hand at this scale, you still did a great job, color really suits it fine!

Very nice! I like the interior, and that crazy shifter! Nice color choice. Looks real in the outside photos!

Great job on a really rough kit... I have one of these in my stash I really want to build but, keep putting it on the back burner because it's such a pain to build...

Thanks! I saw it in the fall releases, I am going to snag a few of them, a couple to build and some for bashing. Of course I am going to have a spending spree when the fall releases hit the shelves anyway!

I'm also not a fan of the out of scale metal flake paints. That said you did good work on the build!
