Nice topic. The key to determined if it is a model or not is to look at the wheels and tires. The sheen and scale of wheels and tires is the most difficult to replicate on a model.

I don't know, with the caliber of the great builders on this forum, that could be tough too.

I tend to look at the glass. Not too many models have straight distortion free glass, which to me is a dead giveaway whether it's a model or not. ;)

I tend to look at the weight(or lack of)on the tires, and for little nuts and bolts on it to see IF they could be reproduced in scale.Last week, I had seen the picture before, so I KNEW it was a model.

I have a different approach.....I am a Photographic Addict.....I examine the Photo....Even photoshopping will leave telltales.....if you know what to look for....Harry is Very Good, but the picture will talk to me.

Yep...I am crazy...I build little cars and trucks!!!

I flip a coin. Heads it's real, tails it's a model. :D

Another clue with the glass- very few modelers bother with the gaskets around the glass, and if they do, rarely get it to look right.
