how do i paint black trim around windows

what would be the best way to paint the black trim on the windows of my dodge challenger i have magic masker but i dont think that will work for what im doing. anyone can tell me a better way plz do lol

I haven't done one yet, but I hear people mask off and use a couple coats of black sharpie marker.

I've used a few different things. Sharpie, a fine tip brush and a steady hand, and a black paint marker.

I have been using Bare-Metal Foil to mask it off, and spray it with Tamiya flat black. I want to try Tamiya Smoke on the new 2010 Mustang, to see how that works. There is usually a nice little ridge that you can cut around the inside with, and I almost always lay it down and use a straight edge to help out. Oh yeah, definitely a brand new xacto blade too!

I do what Gregg does, but I usually use a GOOD QUALITY masking tape (read, Tamiya, Sherwin Williams or equivalent) instead of foil.

And if you spray, don't forget to mask the outside surface of the glass as well to avoid getting paint overspray on it. I don't know about you, but I've never had much luck removing overspray from clear parts- I'm not that good with polishing clear plastic!

I use Bob Downies trick....A wide chisel point sharpie....the edge will "lock" the sharpie to the molded line....a couple of passes and its solid black.

and if you make a mistake, alcohol removes sharpie

- Mask with Tamiya paint

- Paint with Tamiya flat black in several thin layers. I keep the paint thick and pressure up to about 3 bar. Why? Because it keeps the paint from runing under the masking tape if it isn't taped perfectly
