2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD

This is sitting outside my local Shooter's World. Guessing from the wheelbase, it looks like it's built on a armored truck chassis. It is not just for show. The sides are 5/8" plate steel. The round things on the side below the windows open from the inside only and are meant to have weapons fired through it. Lots of lights. It's for sale if anyone's interested. Only $120,000.

wow, two of them!

The British racing green one, I originally bought at a LHS when I was probably 13. I restored it about 3 years ago, and found some suitable decals last year.

The olive drab one I got off ebay last year with Christmas monies. New in box from China.

I built this awhile ago for another GB on an armor forum and thought you all might want a glimpse. It's an after the fall/post apocalypse/new world type of build. I used a 1/35th scale Hobby Boss armored car, added all the additional armor, and scratched the radar dish and mount. The desert camo fit into my plan for a wasteland scenario. UANA stands for Utah Arizona Nevada Alliance.

Here it is prior to paint. Everything that's not gray plastic is something I added or built.

These show the sort of wheelbase you need for heavy armor. Most of the armored zombie hunters here would collapse under their own weight!

not exactly, the vehicles based off of a heavy road truck, like the Petes have frames that are capable of withstanding well over 100,000 lbs, but, the tires, unless you wish to place more axles under the vehicle to spread the weight more evenly among the tires as many heavy haulers do, you may blow out a few of the tires.

That's a very nice armoured car, Wayne. It's stuff like this why I'm still hanging on to all my 1/35 armor junk and accesories. It should be compatible with a 1/32 car without too much fuss, but its way off for 1/24-1/25 for my taste...

Currently, all I have 1/32 is 3 different funny cars, which I'm not sure how that would work out . I used to have an awesome mid 70's Trans Am, I think it was a Monogram. had opening hood, rubber tires and such. One of the best 1/32 cars I can recall. I still have the wheels.

Managed to take photos outside today. Hopefully tomorrow too. Sticker says that it's an BMW. I wouldn't know. An other fun project. Very few parts. Built some interior from card board. More practice with salt tehcnique.

Fortunately good weather today also. Was able to take more photos. I'm calling this Greenline since i have no idea (again) what car this is. Tried sponge and brush technique this time. Not so pleased with result. But it could be worse. Next project, i'll try AK-products or hair spray. Have not decided yet.

Nice work. You've been the only one poswting anything lately, too.

I'm pretty sure that BMW isnt a BMW. Looks like some ham-fisted mashup of a Ferrari, Coba, and a Mercedes.

Before you modified it, I mean... ;)
