BTW, a coupla pages back you mention a miter box that allows you to cut 30 degree angles on tubing. My cheapo setup only allows me to do 45 & 90 and my fine tooth Zona is too short to fit it in any case. What do you use? Anybody who attacks plastic as incessantly and with as much confidence as you do is definitely the source to ask! Yes, I'll bring the CORDVETTE along to NNL West. It will probably be in primer by then! I have a few Miter Boxes, this one is by X-acto, its machined aluminum and has a ridge on the bottom that you put on the edge of the table, to hold it still. Ira Posted February 6, 2012 Author Share Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) HEY!!! Where's the License Plate? First I cut a 1 & 1/4" section from a Plastruct "L" Plastic Strip. Then I cut a slot big enough to fit the section of "L" Strip in the underside of the boattail. Next I glued the "L" Strip in to the slot. Yes, there is room behind the front fenders and in front of the rear fenders. I've already cut them out of the Corvette Body, but I'm not sure...I might use the Testarossa Side Vents instead. Ira Posted February 7, 2012 Author Share Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) T-TOP ANYONE??? The Corvette Roof didn't line up with the Cord Windshield so I cut part of the Corvette Roof off! I replaced the Corvette Roof Section with a section of the Cord Roof. I fit the Cord Section to the windshield and then the Corvette Section. When I got the fit right I held the sections together and applied some Zap-A-Gap and baking powder with the other hand. Then I shaped the roof sections with file boards and sandpaper. Ira Posted February 8, 2012 Author Share Posted February 8, 2012 (edited) BRACE the JOINT!!! Almost broke the Cord Section off the roof, because I forgot to Brace the Joint!!! I cut a thin strip of sheet plastic and glued it on the inside of the roof with Testors Red Label. I used clamps to hold the strip in the shape of the roof, while it dried.
