Making Charger Seats Look More Real

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I'm setting here the other night. Looking at the one charger project I have going on, wanting to improve the interior alittle more then what Revell guys did. I like detail myself. So I got thinking an I could see it in my head how I wanted the seats to look. The problem was at first, finding the right stuff. So I started to look for stuff in scale. Detail wire didn't cut it at all.

It was then I look up at the Australian U.S. Mack project I have going on as well (down in the Trunk area) an in that project I am doing some showing with needle an string. Well I got thinking, sense some real seats have that string like look to them. I thought lets see if it would work.

Sure enough, it did. All I used was a tooth pick, superglue, an sowing string, and a excto knife.

I used the toothpick to put the superglue onto the seat in one small area, placed the cut end of the string into the glue, and helded it there for afew sec. Then I countinued to work slowly around the factory vinyl seat seam putting the string over top of it and gluing the string down into place using the toothpick to carefully cover the string it self in superglue. Doing this really bought the seats to life.
