3men2s
After I sold this kit in ebay out of desperation, I had to buy it again, so I got this one partially started for a good price and decided to built it right away. the body was already painted, but it need it work bad. started sanding and smoothing the sexy lines of porsche. primed then 3 coats of testor red paint. while driying, will work on the interiro. Dirkpitt289
I love the lines and the wheel flares on this kit. I've never been a fan of heller (Aircraft) kits. How is this one?
3men2s
The body details on this are great, love the details on the window brackets, the bumpers, and offcourse the wide fenders with the separation line of the fender and the body, when you give it the thin black line and the ribbed pins that hold the fenders, its going to pop. but...the rims and the tires, OMG What a piece of garbage. will try to male them look desent and if I can find a better set from another company or dealer, it will look much better. it is a curb side but the under carige has enoff details to make it look serious. Monty
You certainly did your body prep well. That paint flowed out beautifully. Did you use Testors/Model Master Guards Red? It's a fairly common Porsche color. Sorry to hear about the wheels and tires. You may want to write a post in our Wanted section & see if someone has some appropriate Monogram (1/24) wheels and tires that would work better. I can't wait to see how this turns out. weasel
not really...18-19" fronts, 20-22" rears were commonplace on the racecars back then...
3men2s
I found a great set of wheels for this project. by using the rubber tires os a sanyo kemp mustang II and th erims from a 83 mustang gtp, on the left, it fits great, fills the wheel weld very well and they look mean. The kits wheels on the right will be replaced.

LAone
great looking build so far. nice choice on the wheel exchange, those other ones are pretty lame looking for such an aggressive body kit. looking forward to more.

3men2s
I foun that the rims from the GTP MUSTANG, work great. using the rubber tires from the kemp mustang to give it a low profile. after paint and decal, here is the look I was looking for. Dirkpitt289
WOW, that is looking cool and mean with those wheels. I'm not so sure about the white lettering though. It's really coming along

It's really coming along Thanks Dirk, about the lettering, I am trying to go more racing like, instead of the road version. here is a photo that messed my head and made me start this project, as you can see the racing tires complement the factory race car. simonr
Danny, excellent performance so far on this one. I did it more than ten years ago and I know you will have lots of fun with it. In my opinion, Heller should reissue this one..its a classic already. The roll cage should be semi-gloss or gloss black, I know, maybe it won't be noticed, but, that the way it goes. I'll be following this one, I like it! Simón P. Rivera Torres

fumi
question to you guys....What color should I paint the roll cage, Chrome or Black ??? the interior is all black . I think black would be better. Chrome roll cage in an otherwise all black interior would probably stand out too much, and it clashes with the red body.
