1961 Rambler American Sedan...A resto of an old Johan kit

This is the 1961 Rambler I have been working on. I bought it online last month. Its been stripped, a few mild body mods, interior is getting highly modified for the rear wheel wells and the full length console. The bumpers have been smoothed down and their bumper guards removed. The grille is getting a photoetched insert and the body has been polished down some for the clear coat to be shot as soon as weather permits. Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

This is where I started a little over a week ago....

I love this out of the ordinary stuff. Definitely my kind of build. looks hot dressed in yellow. Stance is perfect, wheels make it pop.

The wheels are from a Maisto die cast and they are Billet Specialties "Fuelie". They scale out at 20"/22" approximately.

Thanks for the comments guys I really appreciate it very much!

Hey guys! I came back to post more progress pics and realized that I had zapped my thread when I did a cleanup of my photobucket. I got the car polished out this week, the bumpers are curing in the black phase of getting Alclad, and the interior is painted and has begun assembly. Thanks for looking!

Did you change your photobucket files. Most pics are missing. Of the few left, I'd say well done.

I really like this blocky bodystyle from Kenosha.

Nice work on the P/E grille insert. Was that a generic piece or was it originally designed for a different model/kit?

I got alot done today. I installed the interior and the bumpers and grille. Suspension is done. I also turned two aluminum headlight bezels. She is getting close! All I lack is the belly pan and its finished.

Its Rustoleum Texture paint. Its alot less prominent once the interior is in the car. It ends up looking like Man Made Ultra Suede which is popular in 1:1 rods right now.
